gold fish hooks

Sir;
    Years ago I was given 4 solid gold fish hooks.  They were dredged from a river in Columbia, South America by a mining engineer.  They have no eyes for tying to the fishing line.  I am wondering how old they might be and their worth.

Hi Dennis,

I don't even know where to direct you on this one.  I know that I am not the guy.  These sound like a really special item that may be worth a look by a historian.  I'd start with Rich McGaughey on the fishing experts here on this site.  He may have some insight or maybe he can direct you.  An item like this may be way beyond our fishing expertice.  Sounds like a GREAT item.  Is the antiques Roadshow coming near you???  LOL.
