Takedown fishing rods
Question
Hi Robert;
Thanks for being there for us. I found 2 very old takedown rods from my grandfather's estate. They are at least 70 years old if not more.
Both are in individual roll-up light canvas cloth cases with tie-strings. Both have the butt handle section and then 3 rod sections.
One pole is made by Union Manufacturing with no model number. It is all metal except the butt handle which is cork. The other rod is made by Winchester, Model 5305. It has metal rod ends but what looks-to-be ceramic pole sections. Both have white color to the rod sections.
Both are in good shape with no rusting. No parts or pieces are missing; there is no damage to either rod that I can see. Both have seen major use way-back-when (the old gent did a lot of stream fishing while working as a turkey buyer in the 20's).
Can you give me a little history perhaps and maybe a value range? Just on the chance these have value I would add them as individual items to my home-owners policy.
Thanks Robert for your help.

both are from the 20s to 30s. The Union Manufacturing rod would be $10 to $40, the winchester $30 - $150 depending on condition. Both drop in value fast if they are not in near mint condition.
unfortunately the economy has driven down prices on tackle.

Use of older spinning rod and reel.
