Heddon Pal Superlative rod

Question
I have a Heddon Pal Superlative #770 Bass 9' fly rod and metal case. The letters on the rod are B-GBG. It appears to be in very good condition. The cork is perfect and metal reel seats. It is a round 2 piece rod. Before I use it, I would like to know if it is of value to a collector or just a conversation piece. I would hate to reduce the value if it were to break. What can you tell me about it. Thanks.

Although Heddon bamboo fly rods are a decent medium quality rods. Your fiberglass rod would resale for under $50.
My advice is fish it. It will not break any more than modern graphite rods. The date on this rod is 1950s to 70s.
B-GBG is line weight , equivalent to 8 in modern lines.
You are going to find tha action slow , and I would not recommend learning how to cast on a fiberglass fly rod.
