Trout in alpine lakes
Question
I am by no means an accomplished fisherman, however, once on a lake in Nevada, using worms and a bobber, I caught 12 fish in an hour by luck!
Since then I cant catch a thing.
We are going to an alpine lake in Washington this week and we know there are trout there. How can I catch them!!! (smile)
Bait? Fishing Method? Depth? Lake terrain?
Many thanks
Answer
with trout its all in the weather conditions. one year in colorado i was fishing a deep lake down to 80 feet and there was a ridge suspended that went all the way up to 10 feet. i was using corn on a float rig and catching fish all day long. it was a cloudy day low temps and low barometer.. next day it was really sunny and we had to search for them.. With baitfishing there really is no set method except following correct depth.. if its bright out fish deep if its cloudy fish shallow.. sometimes the fish are bunched up together other times they are scattered.. trout are very picky about everything.. hope this helps a little
