whiraway replacement rod only

I am the proud owner of one of the first issue Whirlaway R&R combination.  I used my first one in the 1950's and have wanted another ever since.  It was the best fishing rod/rell I ever used.  My problem now is the rod.  I bought the reel separate and cannot find a rod suitable enough to use in the whirlaway.  Can you give me advice on where I might try to get a rod??   Thanking you in advance, Jacques of Texas

two recommendations

1. go to eBay, find a Whirlaway for spare parts (under sporting goods, outdoor sports, fishing, vintage). You may have to be patient as they come up fairly regularly...
