wirlaway 75 rod & reel combo

sir i would like to know more about this rod & reel combo . My father said that the last time he had seen one was back around 1951.a friend had found this wirlaway 75 rod & reel combo at a yard sale that was about 18 years ago . Jim gave 20 dollars for it and brought it and gave it to me . i have fished since i was about 5 years old and im 51 and have never seen one sense Jim gave me this one when he gave it to me it was full of sand and grass i spent a week cleaning it. i use it a lot during crappie season and i love it . could you tell me more about it who made company name i have looked but have not found anything about it. thank you Bobby Johnson

these rod and reel combinations were introduced in 1953 by Great Lakes. To cast the early model the handle was pivoted to the back of the ball. The later version had a fixed handle on the side. They sell for 30 to $100 depending on condition and if you have the original box.
