big bass that wont bite

I am fishing in a small private pond from boat. It is real shallow and grassy. I caught a six pounder last year on a six.inch lizard. i have tried everything this year and have only caught small ones and a couple brem and crappie. what will get the big ones to bite i will try anything. also any tips on the crappie would be usefull as well. thank you

John, This is sort of a tough one because of lack of information. You say the pond is shallow but how shallow, grassy but how much of the pond's surface is grass? How big is the pond?  Is it possible that your six pounder was the only big one in the pond?  Truly there is just not enough information to truly answer your question. If you would e-mail a more detailed description of the pond and just how you fish it I could do a much better job of answering you.
