Question
Fishing pole
Picked up an old fishing rod from one of my buddies who was just going to toss it out. It says Granger on the bottom but no other identifying marks. It's two piece and six foot tall. It has six flat sides and is heavier than any pole I've used. I would like to know a little history about this rod and around when it was made.
AnswerBrad
Goodwin Granger is a company out of Colorado that made bamboo rods in the 20s thru 40s. They were acquired by Wright and Mcgill after WWII. However, it should have more markings than just Granger, so I am not 100% sure its Goodwin Granger. Your rod is a ocean trolling rod, short and very heavy.
