QuestionI would like to know the approximate value of a 9'-6" 3pc Divine Standard Trout bamboo fly rod. Comes in three partition canvas bag with aluminum tip tube. Scarlet wraps with black borders. Full intermediate wraps. Wood slide band seat. Serial number R97. Decal on rod indicates 1920s. Varnish is melted some leaving bag marks. All wraps in good shape. Stripping guide is reverse snake as are all others. Ferrules are not oxidized. Ferrules are tight. I have not seen many of these so I don't have a handle on value. I was thinking $200-300. What do you think?

Serial number of R is 1927
"Varnish is melted some leaving bag marks." unfortunately means this rod is in poor condition.

Antique & Collectible Fishing Rods: Identification & Value Guide Homel, Dan. 1997 (2nd edition 2000) add about 30% for age of book.
Homel gives the Divine Bamboo rod with an extra tip, 3 sections an average value of $86, 217 and 429 for poor, good, excellent condition respectively.
I sold a Rainbow model Divine rod, some time ago, in good condition for 300 I could get about the same at least ,if you restore the rod.
