QuestionI have a 4 pc flyrod bamboo, marks on it say Roosevelt-Horrocks-Ibbotson co utica ny. it has cloth bag and cardboard cylinder. brown in color and all original eyelets with no repairs. second rod is a bass rod of otagon steel, with red glass eyelets, the handle is cork forward of stainless steel reel holder and then cork on the end. the mark is Richardson Chicago with a circle and triangle. any info and estimate of value? looking to sell but dont know anything about them except they are booth excellent shape.
AnswerHi
Horrocks Ibbotson was one of the major fishing tackle manufacturers during the golden age, after WWI. Most prolific rod maker of their time. You didn't clarify condition, it would range from $50 to $150 if mint condition. Below $100 if its shows wear, corrosion etc.
Your Richardson steel rod is less valuable. Steel rods were the low cost alternative to bamboo rods and made in large volume. It would date 20s maybe earlier. $10-20 depending on condition ...
