QUESTION: im trying to date my rod.I have a orchard industries action rod early plastic brown and white color handle with pat. number 1920966 if there is any info you could give me it would be great.

ANSWER: Hi Scott,

You are looking at 1920s-1930s as a time frame for your rod...assuming it is a steel rod.

If it is glass, the 1950s-1960s would be appropriate.

Orchard Industries was located in Michigan (Hastings) and produced nice rods for the time.

Hi Scott,

Value would depend on the actual condition of the rod.  The steel Orchard Industries rod with the fancy bakelite grip is one of the more valuable steel rods to collectors.  Value estimates are in the following ranges:

Poor-Fair...........$20-$40

Good-Very Good......$65-$90

Excellent-Mint......$100-$130
