Bass fishing tips and advice

Question
Im new to fishing, i have been fishing for about 3 weeks now, i have been researching for a while on tips and advice on bass fishing, since im still rookie fishing days could be disappointing, and im not pleased with the results, im suing june bugs and finesse worm with 2/0 worm hook. Havent been much successful with salmon eggs and trout nibbles. Should i be fishing with a float if im using these worm lures or just with a weight? What baits would you suggest for not too dirty nor clear water? And would i have better results with crank baits? And my casting has been improving every week, but not so good with long casts with a float? im not aiming for particular size bass, but anything, are these worms too big or am i not using the right size hook? What size test line is best for bass fishing?, color clear, green? What am i doing wrong here and what should i been doing for better results?

Your advices would be highly appriciated and my weekends would be more satisfied.:)

Thanks
Muhaz

Answer
Hello, Muhaz, How are you today. Sorry I couldn't get back with you sooner, been very busy at work:(. Well I hope I can help!! Well since your new to bass fishing, I'll keep it simple. The best bass lure or presentation I would recommend would be throwing the wacky-rig worm. This is a great rig to throw for beginners and pros alike, because it always catches something!! First, you'll need to get a bag of Gary Yamamoto senko's. Colors I recommend for your type of water your fishing would be green pumpkin/red flake, black, black/blue flake, or dark pumpkin/with black flake. The reason I suggest these colors is the water your fishing sounds stained, so these colors will help the bass find your lure better in that type of water. Now to fish the wacky-rig, there's really nothing to it, use a #1 or a 1/0 size dropshot, or bait-holder hook, allot of companies make these hooks, so there easy to find. The size of senko I think you should try out would be the old 5 inch model. To fish this, just take the worm bend it in half, then rig your hook in the middle of the bend!! That's it, now your ready to fish!! Don't worry about adding any weight to this, it's heavy enough on it's own. Now as the worm sinks it wiggles back and forth, so let it hit bottom, if you haven't got a strike by then, lift the worm up off the bottom with the rod and give it a couple shakes, repeat. Do this all the way back to you until you get a bite!! Now remember, bass are a predatory fish so they want something moving most of the time, but that's not to say they won't take a bait under a float. But like I said let's just keep it simple. Also for line use a light fluorocarbon line for this rig, try anywhere between 6 to 10 pound test. This type of line is very hard for the fish to see, and it's super sensitive, so you can feel every little tap on your line!! Hey try this out, and if you need anymore help, drop me a line!! Until next time, GOOD FISHING!!
