value of 3 rods
Question
thanks for your anticipated help. i have 3 rods, they are bamboo. they are double cross the date shows "patent feb. 15th, 1927. 2 of them are bait casters and 1 is a spinning rod. there is a name on all the rods that says R.M roland. one bait casting rod has a number on it, which is 06553. the spinning rod has a number that is 8419. the other bait caster has the number 06713. all are 6 sided bamboo. the length is 62" and 67" for the bait casting rods and 78" for the spinning rod. i've had them in my office for the past 37 years. the spin rod does have one missing eye at the end. they were a gift from a lady who is now deceased, so i don't know the history. the bait casters have 4 eyes on one and 5 eyes on the other. the spinning rod has 6 eyes including the 1 missing eye. all are 2 piece. i'm not sure how to identify the metal??
Answer
Kelly,
Sorry ,My friend
Bamboo, either spin or casting rods have little to no resale value.
Trust me, I have tried to sell them and I can't give them away.
I am very successful at restoring and selling bamboo rods
You will not find history on them either as only fly rods command that kind of attention.
