fishing in Hawaii
Question
We are going to Maui in January and would like to go deep- sea fishing. Like most fishermen, my husband is excited about catching "the big one" and loves the fight of bring fish in. I however have a tendancy towards nausea. Therefore, we would like to charter a boat in Hawaii (full day, private) that offers a great success rate and comfort. Do you have any suggestions on which charter we should look to book?
Answer
Aloha,
Well as I am in New York City at present I cannot tell you exactly who has been catching fish this month, but I can tell you about someone who can. Mike Crawford of Fishmaui.com. He is a good friend of mine & WILL guide you to the right boat. I know all the boats on his website, I have fished off most of them, at one time or another. While I must assume "The Big One" refers to Marlin, don't forget there are other fish that can give you as much fight & fun. Lots of Mahi-Mahi & Wahoo as well as nice "footballs" or Tuna as we call the mid-sized ones. You will find excellent choices from Mike Crawford. I hope this helps you.
