How to use my fishing rod
Question
Hi Chris-
My name is Jeff Broadhurst. I live just north of Atlanta, Ga. The nearest lake to me is Lake Lanier. Recently, I found a fishing rod and reel along the expressway. I think it must have fallen out of a boat en route to the lake.
I have searched the internet, but I can't find much info on it. The reel is Shimano Solstace 4000 Rg, and the rod is a Thunderstick. It is 7 feet long. I was wondering if you knew something about it. I have never used a reel like this before. It looks like it's a very good combo. Do you have any suggestions on using it?
Thanks
Jeff
Answer
Jeff,
The Solstace 4000 is a decent fishing reel for bass or all around use. It is designed to use 10 lb test and will take a range from 8-12 lb test. This will be a good reel for finesse fishing (light tackle for bass) and some lightweight worm fishing. It retails for around $50 to $60. The rod is also a decent rod. I can't tell you the best way to use it without knowing the weight of the rod (medium, medium light, heavy, etc.)
If you need any further assistance, feel free to ask again.
