guide rapping mistake
Question
I stupidly mixed two of the same parts of winding coating and coated the windings. Oops, they were in wrong spot in my tool box. Anyway, I wiped as much as possible off as the rod turned (with a brush). Then I mixed the correct parts and coated the rod as usual. After almost a week the raps are still tacky! Is there an easy fix for this? Will they ever dry as is? This rod uses some really expensive materials, I would hate to remove it all and start again. Please help me!

Just mix up a new batch of your coating, being very careful to get the mixture right, it's critical. Always mix a batch larger then you need to make small mistakes in mesurement affect the mix less. Recoat your wraps and they should be OK, if not you'll have to strip and redo the rod.
