Shallow and Muddy for Walleyes

Question
My cabin is on a shallow, weedy, muddy lake in northern Wisconsin.  I fish, and once every few weeks I catch a Walleye and I fish it heavy.  The lake has a large inlet and outlet along with a few sandbars and weed beds.  I would know as would think to fish deep during the day buy the lake is only 16ft deep!  Any idea where the Walleye may be in this lake?  Thanks I appreciate your help

Answer
Well where they are will depend on the season, the bait, the water temperature, and oxygen levels.
In summer lakes tend to stratify with VERY low Oxygen levels below 12 to 15 feet in some lakes especially small lakes with vegetation.
In spring I would look for the fish in the inlets and outlets.. especially when the water temps hit the 50's they will move to the moving water to spawn. Twister tails and jigs will work well as will Shad Raps and Rapala countdown lures.
In the Summer I would look for them in the weeds. The bait fish are your key here. Look for baitfish. If you find them you will find the Walleye. Try using a deptfinder to find the baitfish if you have a boat.
The sandbars if they have crasfish also may hold some good fish. Match the bait to the area you are fishing.
I am more of a Fishing Guide Resource person but some of my fishing exploits with guides have rubbed off on me. Try these ideas and let me know what happens.
