Can a bait cast reel be cheap and always get rats nests?

Hi Ryan,
The price of a baitcasting reel doesn't necessarily mean that it will backlash.  However, I would suggest you get a good quality product, such as a Garcia, and learn to adjust it properly.  The C4 and C3 models are on the lower end, and work well.  Also if you can find a 1000P, it should be a little cheaper, but will be a very nice reel - I have one of these myself.
