solar charger 12 v

Question
thinking about getting 12 v battery solar charger for boat.. do you know anything about these or ever use one? if so how many watts should i look for.. and good reliable place to find one? thanks aaron

 I never owned or used a solar charger, nor have any of my fishing buddies who own boats.  Those of us with smaller boats who trailer have the ability to plug in a charger when needed, and those with larger boats at marinas usually have shore side power that is hooked up whenever the boat is at the dock.  But I could see the advantage of a solar charger in certain instances.

 You may try some of the major marine supply chains and on line catalog sales places.  Westmarine.com, Boatersworld.com, Overtons.com, Cabelas.com and Basspro.com are all places that should sell solar chargers for boats.  And if you do finding something that may be suitable and you want more information, then once you have the name of the manufacturer and the product description, chances are you can use the internet to get that directly from the web site of that manufacturer.
