Line lbs.
Question
I have a baitcaster and i was wondering what kind and lbs test line should i put on. Also what is flipping? And once again what is the differences in bass jigs?
Answer
Well the type and size of line depends on the reel and what you are fishing for. Lighter lines for some bass and crappie, and heavier for bigger fish like catfish or muskie.
To help you I would need to know the model of the baitcaster and the fish you want to fish for.
Flipping is a type of casting with a baitcaster. You simply flip the bait up under things. It takes a special kind of bait casting reel in some cases.
Bass jigs come in several sizes and colors. Some come with weed guards, some without. Again bass fishing has progressed so far that there are now different tools for different conditions.
Since your questions are mostly about Bass fishing my go to for fishing most situations is 10 or 12 pound test mono or flourocarbon line. Flourocarbon works good on Baitcasters and supposedly is invisilbe under water.
You can fish almost any bait with 10 to 12 pound test and still haul in some pretty hefty fish if you set the drag correctly.
This may not totally answer your question.. if not let me know what kind or reel, rod and what you are fishing for and I can give you a more complete answer.
