aligator gar

what do i use to catch aligator gars , i have a small boat,  i heard somthing bought jugs??  and  big  hooks???

O.K. it is actually very simple.  You will need a heavy action rod, a large reel, 50lb test, a 2 or 3 liter bottle, a large steel leader, an 8/0 hook, and large chunks of fish meat.  You tie the the neck of the bottle 3-7 feet above the hook so it acts as a bobber.  Gar feed primarily on fish so you'll need some for bait. Of course some sun screen, some sodas, and food will come in handy when waiting for a bite cause it takes a while.  MAKE SURE YOU HAVE LONG HOOK OUTS.  NEVER STICK YOUR HANDS NEAR ITS MOUTH!!!  e-mail me back cause I need more info on what you want to do with the gar.  Edward you should have yourself some fun with these gar I know I do. Oh I almost forgot you are gonna need some gloves cause when they  run your reels gonna start screaming. Keep on fishin Edward and never stop!
