What is the trick to casting with a batecasting reel?

To start with adjust the magnetic anti-spool to the max. Tie on a lure or some lead and adjust the knob on the side of the reel to put just enough tension on the spool that when you drop the lead to the ground in freespool that the spool stops when the lead hits the ground. Now you should be able to cast without backlashes, but your distance won't be too great. Now you just have to practice and see how much you can turn down the magnetic anti-backlash and the tension on the spool to get the best distance without backlashes. It just takes a little practice and you will be casting with the best of them.
