spinning rod

Question
I have an eAgle claw powerlight spinning rod PLSH429-8'3".  It looks like it has wood inside.  Can you tell me anything about it?  It is yellow with brighter yellow and dark umber.

OK, I know that line of rods very well.  They have been around for ever and people still love that soft action.

I'm not sure what you are seeing that looks like wood. I'm guessing that you are seeing the grain in the blank.  That is old-school fiberglass.  You are seeing the fibers and fabric of the fiberglass construction.  

Those are fun rods.  It's funny that in todays world of high modulas graphite, Eagle Claw still keeps that line of rods going.  Why, because people still love them.
