swordfishing
Question
what time of the year can you night fish for swordfish in east central florida?
Answer
I'm thinking Daytona all the way down, right? Okay, I'll be honest with you and say I rarely fish that far up. I'm more Miami-the keys area. I went out and talked to some friends of mine about the subject. To my understanding, there is no difference in time frame between east central or south east florida for swordfishing. It's pretty much the same. December through January being the best times because of cooler weather. Fish the humps, valleys and peaks anywhere from 600-1800 feet at mid depth. Use Live baits like bonito, blue runners or switch to the ever popular whole squid. Lights are a must, glow sticks, strobes..ect. You can find these swordfish grounds by obtaining a map or fishing with a knowledgable person. Thanks for your question. I hope to have helped you in some way.
