Plastic Worms
Question
QUESTION: Hi Bill
Wacky style fishing has caught my attention do you know if
anybody makes a 4" fat worm I want to use it with a # 4 Gamakatsu wide gap weedless finesse hook.
What do you think about this?
ANSWER: Fat worms are becoming a more and more popular way to catch bigger bass in a shorter amount of time. Therefore there are so many to choose from, but if I were to recommend one my first choice would be a "Mister Twister Twister Tail". I use these often and I highly recommend them during bass feeding time(6:30-9:30 during bass season). These come in a 4" size and are great for bass, perch, walleye, and pike. Unfortunately these are not scented, but for a better affect instead of buying artificial scents just rub some fish guts on it. Trust me, it works. Check out the Twister Tail at:

Good luck and good idea

QUESTION: HI BILL THANKS FOR YOU COMMENT.
I AM TRYING O SWITCH FROM SPINNING REEL O A LOW PROFILE
CASTING REEL TO BE EXACT THE TEAM DAIWA-X SUPER TUNED
I READ THIS REEL PREVENTS BIRDS NESTS WHAT IS YOUR VIEW
CAN I STILL CAST PLASTIC WEIGHTLESS PLASTIC WORMS WITH THIS REEL OR SHOULD I STICK WITH THE SPINNING REEL.
ANSWER: I generally stick with the Spinning because you get better quality for your money, but I do have the Daiwa-X and is a decent reel, however what you read I would guess to be a pay-off of some sort because it generates just as many birds nests as most casting reels, so I'd stick with the spinning reel. If you are looking for a reel that rarely gets birds nests though, I have the perfect one. For over 4 years now I have had my favorite reel get only 5-6 birds nests, and remember, I'm out every day with it for excursions. This reel is the pflueger president. It's price range is $60-80$, and I have never had to replace it.

QUESTION: HI Bill
I did some reaserch on the daiwa supercast its supposed to be super tuned @ the factory to eliminate backlash.
I also read extensive reviews on the president seems to be ok I am going to Cabelas Saturday I have to make up my mind. with this President that you recomend can you cast
plastic worms with no weigth and still get distance?
Answer
Well if you want to get distance with weightless worms than the president is pretty good. It has a 10 bearing system with a gear ratio of 5.2:1, so the casting is smooth and effortless and the spool is relatively loose for quick spool spinning, I use all kinds of small weightless lures and I've never had a problem with distance.
