Answer
Hi David,
According to my reference books, the Heddon Premier #115 and the Expert #125 were built by Heddon specifically for Sears & Roebuck. They were offered for sale only through Sears from about 1947 to 1952.
An HDH rating is equivalent to a DT6F or a WF6F rating in modern fly lines, so your rod is rated a 6wt by Heddon.
The Premier #115 model was built using the same grade cane that was used for the Heddon #20 rods, but it had fewer guides and a less expensive reel seat to keep the sales price lower.
Note: to be considered very good condition you need to have the entire rod with all pieces in sound condition and preferably no short or broken sections; typically, the original bag and the original tube should also be present and in good condition; and, you may have some evidence of normal upkeep like a replaced guide or a protective wrap over a hook dig. A rod in very good condition will have been used, but not abused; it should appear well cared for.
In poor to fair condition the rod should be worth $100-150
In good to very good condition the rod should be worth $$250-350
In excellent to mint condition the rod should be worth $450-600
Thanks, Joe
