IS IT BETTER FOR A REEL TO HAVE MORE OR LESS BEARINGS. SPECIFICALLY SPINNING REELS

Hi Dan-

More bearings are going to be better as opposed to less. However, keep in mind that it is the quality of those bearings that will make a difference over the long haul. Two reels that have the same number of bearings will both feel very smooth right out of the package. But the reel that has quality stainless steel bearings will feel smoother much longer than the one with lower quality components.

There are many good quality spinning reels available at moderate cost. Most of the spinning reels I use can be had for under $80.
