largemouth bass fishing
Question
I live in Jacksonville beach florida, two questions-- do you know what the best baits to use would be for the lakes surrounding this area--not the river/ second question, i like to use worm without a sinker, such as a sinko. What size and brand of hook do you recommend? I have been using 2/0 and loosing fish, so I switched to 3/0. I cant find any of the true turn hooks that I used 10 years ago?
Thanks for the help,
Mike
Answer
Hi Mike, and thanks for your question.
I live in New England, and have fished in Florida only once, but it was my experience there that crankbaits worked very well. Other baits that worked well there were spinnerbaits,Zoom Speed Craws, and your favorite, the Senko.
As for hook size, I use either a 3/0 or 4/0 hook made by Gamakatsu or Eagle Claw Lazer Sharp hooks in the same size. I use both the EWG and round bend worm hook styles. WalMart sells the True Turn hook, as does Bass Pro Shops I believe.
