sea horse fly rod
Question
I have recently purchased a sea horse fly rod on e-bay. It appears to be for salt water and has 3 tips, isin good shape and a very pretty rod. I was curious of the value an history, where it was manufactured.. etc.. anything you know about this brand would be appreciated
Answer
Jonathan,.
I looked it up on ebay .
I wish you had asked me before Buying. This is a fresh water rod
It looks like a Japanese rod.
I don't know how old you are but when I was a kid in the 50s Japanese made trinkets to survive . Made in Japan was synonymous with junk. Originally sold by the thousands to GIs in a light long box with lures and huge flies . Mostly consider trinkets by collectors but memorial to GIs , they have little resale or fishing value. I have never seen any written history on them in English.
This rod switches from fly to casting rod.
