QuestionPart A:Trying to replace top section of a an old Daiwa flyrod. Don't know if it is worth looking for----or if other parts may fit the top. Contacted Daiwa but they rquest a model #. The rod: 8' (or) 8'6" "high carbon graphite" fly rod.---probably a 6 wt----color: grey with maroon thread around eyelets---what is legible is : Daiwa

I would guess it has little collectors resale value.
Graphite rods are mass produced so yes you can find parts for them, even if they have custom in the model name.
I am a bamboo man myself but here's a thought:
Search ebay every week and find a same length rod- measure the inside of the female ferule - email the seller and find a tip that fits- don't pay over $30 for replacement parts
You can email me (
[email protected]) the inside diameter and length, I may have a useable replacement.
