carp in VA

Question
well i live in virgnia and there is this carp that is about a good 28in and i have tryed every thing. he is realy stabourn i put corn and bread or what have you right in his face and let its sit there for a few and still cant get a bit. and when i do get a bite he lest go befor i have a chance to snag him. if you couple tips that would be great.

I got to Chuckle,,,,that's why they call it FISHING and not CATCHING.....

corn is your best all around bait,,,use a single hook, with a 1 ounce lip sinker above the swivel that the hook is attached to,,,,,,thread on 3 or kernels of corn ( it pays to chum up the area with some corn before you fish)
Put the rod in a Fork Stick, keep the line tight, and open the bail,,,,( Carp Are notorious for stealing rods and reels)

Carp have PHARYNGEAL TEETH, so they SUCK in the bait and then blow it out,,,, they tend to get hooked on the BLOW OUT PHASE,,,,
