Milward Hexacane Flymaster value

Question
I have a milward Hexacane Flymaster.  It is 8' 7" and is in very good to
excellent condition.  There are 2 tip sections in identical condition.  It has
24-99 where the rod model number would usually appear.

Condition:
All wraps are in good condition with the eye guides all tight.  There is sligh
discoloration on some wraps where the wraps touch the guides, which I
presume.  There is some oxidation on the guides but it is minimal.  They eyes
are copper colored, with shinny spots where there is wear.  The varnish looks
excellent with no visiable cracks.  The stipper guide appears to be plasitic as
it is translucent, but it good condition.  The hook keeper is slightly rusty, but
tight and usable. Cork has an aluminum or nickle cap where the rod enters
the grip.  The cork is dark apparenly from dirt, but is shows very little wear
and doesn't have any chunks out.  The real seat is copper colored, but feels
like aluminum.  It has minor scratches on the base of the seat and the reel
nut has some worn spots.  The Milward logo decal above the grip is in
excellent condition and the Milward engraving in the reel seat is excellent.
The joints for the sections appear to be brass on the tip section and looks
like brass on the inside of the ferrule on the butt section, but has a gunmetal
looking finish on the outside.  There is a brass stopper for the butt section's
hole. I have the canvas sleeve and it is faded but in good condition.  No rod
tube.

Action:
I put a 4 weight line on and it casted pretty well.  The rod is heavy by todays
standards, but seems very fishable.  The action is distributed across the rod
with most of the power near the bottom.

Thanks.  And I'd promise to not quote you on ebay.  BTW, I am in Evergreen,
and might be able to swing by if I'm down in the city.

Answer
Bill,
What you have there is a UK rod . It is not in my books and I have little to no experience with them. If you know anyone who has Fishing Tackle by Graham Turner   you might get a price. I put Milward Hexacane Flymaster  in the goggle search engine and got several hits . You might try ebay as well.
Sorry I can't help you more. I would love to see the rod e-mail me [email protected] , I'll send the phone number to my Arvada home.
My guess would be at least $200 .
Luck,
Mac
