catching big farm pond bass
Question
yes. him 17 years old and have been fishing since age 4. and to me theres no thrill like setting the hook on a huge largemouth bass.
now him not trying to come off cocky but i can normally pull a bass out of where many people have trouble. i know bout every trick when i comes to bass fishing, ok not lets get to that questions..
I have a old farm pond that kinda gets fished alot by people that use spinners and other junk.. and i normally use different texas riged worms and senko's and pull some nce ones out, but theres 3 bass in there that weigh from 6 to 7 pounds.. ive caught the 7 pound bass once on a fluke and ive tryed everything and can't get him or his friends to hit anything.. and they always chased bluegills around but even when i use a lure that gives off the presentation of a minnow or shad it never works.. now do u have any ideas that may help me land the big boy again along with his buddies.??
THANKS, COLTON CUMPSTON
Answer
Hi Colton and thanks for your question.
Those are some nice fish you're pursuing... and some smart ones too! They've obviously become conditioned to avoid baits they've seen a million times in the past, so my best advice would be to try a bait that you've never seen anyone use there before if you can find one. This might not be a new type of bait, though it could be, but one of a slightly different size or color is what I have in mind. I think I'd cast a crankbait if the weedcover allows it because you've seen them chase bluegills in the past.
