QUESTION: I believe it's bamboo.Tim Amos
Answer
Goodwin Granger started making rods in 1919, 1920 time period, making high quality flyrods. Granger, the founder died in 1931.
After WWII, Wright & McGill aquired Goodwin Granger ~ 1946. Many of the Granger employees were hired by W&M. Your rod is early in the transition process since it has the name of both companies.
In terms of value, fly rod collectors are very sensitive to condition - does the rod have the original metal tube, two tips? the cloth bag.
The actual condition of the handle, cork, the bamboo, finish on the bamboo, etc.
If the rod is not near mint, the value drops rapidly.
The rod would probably range in the $75 to low $100s depending on condition and completeness.
