how should my line be hooked up
Question
how should my like be hooked up for fishing for bass i do shore fishing so the line has to go far and what types of weights should i use i have the worm ones and the ones that you pinch on
Answer
Hi, I'm not entirely sure I understand your question, but I'll answer it as I understand it, and you can ask a follow up if need be,ok?
The greatest determinant of the distance you can cast will be your rod,not your line. Use the longest rod you can comfortably handle, and the lightest line you figure you can get by with for the most distance. Also, a reel (spinning gear) with a larger diameter spool will help the line come off best.
The weight you use will be determined by the bait you're using. If you are throwing a worm-type bait you will likely want to use a worm weight. Use the lightest weight you can get your casting distance with, assuming you aren't casting into weeds. If so, go heavier. The idea behind using a smaller weight is so that you can feel the bites better.
Use your pinch-on weights for baits like flukes. For tubes, grubs, crayfish/creatures, use either a ball-head jig (few weeds) or Texas rig them.
I hope I've answered your question, but, if I have left you wondering more, please ask.
