great lily pad fishing lake?
Question
QUESTION: Hi:
I take my father bass fishing for a week once a year. We would like to find a great largemouth lake with lily pads to visit. Any recommendations in Ky or Va?
Thanks,
Lee
ANSWER: Lee; While I have fished a few times in Kentucky and Virginia I have never fished a lake in either state that had large quantities of pads.
I would suggest that you contact the fish and game departments of both states and ask for information on various lakes in each state.
I am sorry I can't be of more help but I simply have had so little experience in those states that I can't help.
Thanks anyway for calling me to try to answer your question. You might try one of the other fishing experts on All-Experts maybe they could tell you.
I live on a lake with lots of pads but it is located in the southern tip of South west Georgia. I love to fish pads.
If there are other questions please don't hesitate to ask.

Answer
Well, coming to the deep south eh? My sister and her husband live at Bonita Springs not too far from Naples.
There are lots of lakes in South Florida with lots of pads. I am sure you will enjoy that.
Come on down or up whichever it is. Lake Seminole is a great bass lake. Not quite as good, maybe as some of the new hot ones out west but still good. At one time it was listed as number 5 best bass lake in U.S. but since then many newer lakes have passed us up. I still have caught a lot of bass between 5 and 9 lbs. Still looking to land the ten+ pounder. I have had her on a time or two but you know the story about the big one.
My boat is in the water ready to go fishing if you get over this way. We are just off the line between the north and south of Florida being 100 miles west of I75. Most people headed for South Florida miss us. Actually Lake Seminole lies on the Florida line and only misses the Alabama line by about ten miles. In other words as far Southwest in Georgia as you can get. Still if you can find your way down here and want to try fishing our pads you are welcome. I will give you my phone number so if things work out give me a call.
