hiawatha copper telecoping pole
Question
my grandpa gave me an old Hiawatha telescoping fishing pole. Its made out of copper and opens to 8 feet and has a cork handle. All 3 eyelets are still there and it seems to be in good shape was wondering if it had any value other than sentimental thank you
Answer
Joe,
it sounds like an old fly fishing rod. Typically these rods run in the 10-$50 range. With $50 being in excellent condition, original cloth bag or tube.
The main interest from flyrod collectors is the custom split bamboo rods made in the US.
I would hang on to the rod, I think the copper has a great look - most were hollow steel/sheet metal.
