Question
broken
I just broke a Hardy fly rod. I dont know if its Bamboo or not and I dont know
if it is worth or even able to be fixed. It pulled apart right behind the first
eyelet . I cant tell if this has happened before as there was visible hairline
fractures at break point. I really liked the feel and action of this rod, so any
help would be great. The bit of info I can give you on the rod is that it is 7
1/2 ' #5 and there is a hand painted I/L above the handle. Thanks
AnswerDenny,
It is round not flat sided therefore not bamboo. It appears to be fiberglass (50s - 60s) but could be graphite(70s on).
If you bought the rod you may have a life time guarantee from Hardy for replacement.
I can fix it but it will not be the same feel.
Is the reel below or above the handle ? Fly rods are usually resold for more. Hardy makes good rods.

I would look to replacing the broken section.
