Answer
Hi Mike,
The only H-I Mohawk I have listed is a fiberglass spinning rod so that's not going to help.
Most of the older extruded steel, collapsible (or telescoping) rods were actually made by Horton Manufacturing in Bristol, Conn. They made these rods for lots of different vendors and put whatever name the buyer wanted on them. These were usually sold as a bait/fly rod combination with a cork handle and the reel seat above the handle. I can't say for certain that this rod was made for H-I by Horton, but the odds are pretty good that it was.
There isn't much interest in these rods from the collector point of view and the value would probably be in the $10-$20 range for most examples. The 7 foot length is a little unusual. I have seen lots of these rods at 9 feet, but only one other at 7 feet.
Thanks, Joe
