bamboo fly rod, bait casting, salt water rods
Question
All are very old.The saltwater pole is a Shakespeare 1160B 6 1/2(1929) I think- either bamboo or cane- good shape. The split bamboo fly rod is made by Congress Quality has 3 sections with an xtra tip section (which is broken). These are stored on the outside of a round holder or "caddy". The bait casting rod is a 2 section, bamboo made by Heddon. Any idea of the value of these?

Right off the top , only bamboo fly rods are collected and that makes them valuable. If there is a market for surf or casting rods, I have not been able to reach them. My old tuna bamboo rods I turned into wading staffs.
Shakespeare database (http://www.shakespeare-fishing.com/antiques/rods.pdf ) says the 1160B was made in 1929. You might do something with that .
The Heddon I would need a model number to better help you , might go for as much as 150, because of the name.
I have nothing on the Congress Quality in memory or books: Antique & Collectable Fishing Rods: Identification & Value Guide Homel, Dan. 1997 (2nd edition 2000)
Bamboo Rod Restoration Handbook -Michael Sinclair
Classic & Antique Fly-Fishing Tackle: A Guide for Collectors & Anglers by A.J. Campbell .
I have seen the make Congress on ebay but mostly casting reels. You might check there periodically and see if a bamboo rod sells there.
I found 2 had sold in the last 30 days for 17 and 47.
Good Luck,
Mac
