Answer
Hi David,
I don't find this particular rod name in my reference books under the Horrocks-Ibbotson listings. These listing are far from complete as they deal mainly with bamboo rods, so this is not at all unusual. I have seen the name before.
Tubular glass rods typically date from the 1960s-1970s period, some a little earlier, some a later. The glass rods I do find listed in the H-I section typically are valued in the $15-$40 range depending on actual condition. Yours sounds like it could be valued near the upper end of that scale.
The real value is that it belonged to your great grandfather. If you decide to use it, think about him when you are out fishing with the rod. It's a great way to get the most out of it for you, personally.
With three great grandchildren of my own, I can assure you I would like to see them make good use of all these great fishing rods I have accumulated once I'm done with them.
Thanks, Joe
