Questioni have just inherited three alex martins...two scotia dry fly , one mint on slightly used and one "light 4 3/4"
plus a js sharpe near mint.any idea of the value? Thank You, Chris in Calgary
AnswerChris,
First let me say I am a US trout bamboo fly rod guy. It also happens to be where the greater values are found. Salmon rods and UK rods probably have good values but I have not found their markets. You might try ebay and ebay.uk.
Antique & Collectable Fishing Rods: Identification & Value Guide Homel, Dan. 1997 (2nd edition 2000) gives the value for 4 different Scottie rods (various lengths) but no "scotia dry fly ". Nothing on "alex martin".

you can e-mail InTheNetUK.com at

they have a sharps page:

You might try a lending library for Fishing Tackle: A Collector's Guide Hardcover, 1991 Graham Turner
Orvis recommends 2 guys who might help you but probably not for free.
