Hardy split bamboo rod

I have a Hardy Palakona split bamboo rod, pattern : De Luxe, approx 4.5 oz. 8 ft. 3pc. in mint condition with cloth and metal tube No. E67896. I am trying to place an insurance value on this. Can you help me?

Hi Larry,

According to my reference book (Homel, 2003) this rod in mint condition should be worth about $400.  Bear in mind that these figures are at least 5 years old, but they are the most recent I have found, and that you should probably inflate that value somewhat.

If it were my rod, I would probably insure it in the $500-$600 range.

This particular model dates from the mid-1930s and it sounds like you have a nice one.
