Subject rod handle part
Question
rod handle parti have an old rod handle with the part that tightens and holds the rod in place in the handle broken. I have gone to several fishing rod/reel repair places and they have never even seen one of these. it is from mid 1970. the notations in the reel seat are as follows - featherweight products - chapion - ocean view bldg glendale calif. i am attaching a photo of the broken three-fingered part. thank you very much in advance for your answer.

Answer Oh boy, Jim. I hate to tell you this but I've never seen anything like this either. You have stumped the chump! I don't even know that manufacturer at all.
If you could, post this question to Rich McGaughey on this same site. It may be a little out of his expertise also, but he knows a heck of a lot about old rods.
Sorry I couldn't be more help.
I will tell you that because neither I nor others that you have spoke with have ever seen the item, your chances on a replacement part are bleak.
A good rod builder should have a creative fix to the situation.
