Garcia Conolon flyfishing rod
Question
I have a Garcia Conolon 7'3.8oz. Model #2072 flyfishing rod. Its a 4 piece assembly. Also it is a Lee Wulff signature brand. Is this worth anything? I did pick it up at a auction for a very minimal amount. I cannot find anything on the internet. It also has the following numbers near the handle 25356 and AFTMA
Answer
Hi John,
I don't find much of anything on that particular model either. I do have some generic data on Garcia Conolon fly rods from the D.B. Homel book that values them as: Poor/Fair = $10, Good/Very Good = $28, Excellent/Mint = $50. Bear in mind these numbers are about 6 years old and should probably be inflated somewhat.
In addition, the 4 piece configuration is more desirable; and the Lee Wulff signature model should be more deisrable. AFTMA most likely refers to the line rating which on this fiberglass rod is probably a 6wt or 7wt line.
If you intend to keep the rod and use it, you probably have a pretty nice pack rod. If you intend to sell it, keep the above information in mind when you set a price.
Thanks, Joe
