Old Flies in Wooden Box
Question
Do you have any information on this wooden box of fishing flies? It is made by the Minnesota Fishing Tackle Company. The box has the #644 and there are 12 flies in the box. The box also reads made in occupied Japan.
Answer
Mike; I have no information on such a box of flies. However it having "made in occupied Japan" may make it worth more than if just "made in Japan".
My best suggestion is to get a recent issue of Bass Master's Magazine and look up the page on antique tackle. Send all the info including a picture if possible to the address. This is the most likely place to find out any information. Handle the box and flies with care. Keep the box tightly closed and in a cool dry place or the flies may disintegrate.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help but this isn't my specialty but it is the specialty of the man in Bass Masters Magazine and I am sure he will be able to give you some help.
Thanks for calling on me to attempt answering your question.
