st. croix model 820
Question
QUESTION: Joe, i have a 6' fiberglass st.croiz rod in almost perfect condition. the decal is crisp and is complete. it says: genuine double power, fiberglass, st. croix, corporation, made in usa, park fall wisc., model 820-6'. the decal is in red and white. the glass on the rod is clear with red wrappings on the eyes. the handle is cork with 2 slide rings to seat a reel. the cork has absolutely no marks to indicate there was ever a reel mounted on it. the cork is flawless. the ferrules are shimmy with no rust and seat very well. i am trying to determine the worth of this rod as i have some people interested in it. i would appreciate any advise you may want to give me regarding the value of this rod........thank you so much.
ANSWER: Hi Robert,
Sorry, I do not have any reference materials that cover these rods. I also did not find anything useful in an internet search. I did locate one model 820-6' offered on an online auction with a $10 starting bid.
Online auctions are probably not the best place to look for comparison values, but it's all I could find. St. Croix rods are popular and of high quality so yours may have a batter value. Especially if you are located in the upper midwest.
Thanks, Joe

Answer
Hi Robert,
I just put "st croix model 820-6 fishing rod" into the search engine and let it find anything it could. I just tried it again but had no success myself, so I assume the items I saw earlier have ended.
You can also search through the online stores from time to time and find vinatge gear. I tend to use the generic search engines because they find items on any of the online auctions available.
I hope the folks at St Croix have good luck with their search.
Thanks, Joe
