Question
Ice Fishing Jigger
Good Afternoon Robert,
I acquired this heavy wire fishing device about 6 months ago and I believe it is an Ice Fishing Jigger. It belonged to a recently pass 88 year old native Mainer. There was much fishing gear in his estate but no tip-ups or other Ice Fishing necessities. I am not positive it is a jigger and that is why I need an experts opinion. I have surfed the web for hours over the last 6 months and have come up empty. I am looking for who the manufacturer was and the era it is from. I believe it is from the 20's or 30's possibly earlier. It measures approx. 16" long and the spool is 1-1/2 in dia. by 2-1/2" wide. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You
George

I agree, a very primitive ice fishing rig. Unfortunately, I cant tell you who made it, probably locally made in some fishing town near a lake for ice fishing.
Another place you can post photos is Joes Old Lures...
