Montague Commanche 2274
Question
I have a Montague Spinning Rod Comanche 2274
It has a broken tip that I'd like to get repaired. Can you tell me where I can send it for repair?
Answer
Phil; Sorry it took so long for my response. I read your question and decided to do a little research before giving you an answer. I probably really should not be trying to answer your question because even after looking on the net I could find very little that might help you. But I do not like to take the options of not answering the question. So here I am.
Probably if the tip is broken and not just missing the tip eye it is usually not possible to repair. I am assuming this is a split bamboo rod and pretty old. Montague hasn't made rods for some time.
The latest that I could find was that they sold out to Ocean City. You might be able to contact Ocean City for information. If this is a glass rod or even a newer one You will probably only be able to replace the tip section. If it is a one piece rod then you may have to simply replace the whole rod.
I am sorry I could do no better to answer your question. Try a search for "Fishing Rod Repair" on the net maybe you will find someone who specializes in doing such repairs. Good luck.
