baitcast reel regular mainteneance

Question
I have a 2008 model Quantum Energy pt baitcast reel and can not figure out how to get the cover on the gear side off. I have owned a few other brands before and it is obviously completely different.  I am a self contained unit when it comes to fishing and my equipment.  So if my only choice is to regularly send it in then I'll smash it into more pieces than can be counted and mail it to the company.

Now, now, put down the sledge hammer and back away slowly!

I don't have one of these reels so I went on their website to look at the expolded view.

It looks like there are three small screws that hold the side plate on the handle side on.  I'm not sure, but the handle and drag star may have to come off first to get that cover off.  

Write me back if yours doesn't have those three screws.  Maybe I am looking at the wrong reel.
